Creating the Life You Want
With Gen Kelsang Gomlam
There is nothing fixed about us or our lives. If we know how to change our thoughts, we also know how to change our world. Buddha specialized in practical methods for letting go of negative self-defeating thoughts and realizing the boundless potential we have within – methods that are still available to us today.
In this two part series, we will learn how to get rid of limiting thoughts and use positive thinking to improve daily life. Attend both sessions, or feel welcome to drop in to one that works for you. Although both parts together offer maximum benefit, the Friday Night Lecture and Saturday Workshop are also stand alone in nature. Everyone welcome!
Friday Night Lecture: Silencing the Inner Critic
June 7, 7:00-8:30 PM
Many people are hard on themselves in a way that is counter-productive and painful. In this Friday Night Lecture, we will learn practical methods to overcome these negative mental habits. Through skillful analysis and meditation, we can gradually learn to identify unhelpful thought patterns, feel empowered to accept our shortcomings, and transform our self into the confident, happy person we wish to be. Everyone is welcome to this light-hearted and practical Friday Night Lecture!
Saturday Workshop: Awakening Our Pure Potential
June 22, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Buddha taught that each of us have within us an extraordinary potential for inner growth and transformation. This pure potentiality is utterly indestructible and exists amidst the negativity that often crowds our mind. When this potential meets the right conditions, all the qualities of enlightenment will awaken within us and we will experience pure, lasting happiness. In this inspiring workshop, we can start to identify with this pure potential, rather than our limitations, and begin to train in special methods to cause this pure nature to ripen.
