A weekend on the Four Noble Truths and The Wheel of Life with guest teacher Gen Kelsang Tabkay
This is an in-person event with livestream attendance available for members!
Please note that for this special event, a registration fee is required for both livestream and in-person attendance.
How does suffering and problems cease? Only by gaining realizations that protect us from inner poisons of anger, fear, and confusion. How can we actualize the Four Noble Truths in our daily life? Can we use this ancient advice to realize our own potential for lasting happiness, to create a deeper connection with others by developing empathy, and to be empowered to hope for positive changes in our lives?
In this special weekend with visiting teacher, Gen Kelsang Tabkay, through teachings and guided meditations we will explore the most profound teachings of Buddha – the Four Noble Truths and the Wheel of Life – which we can use as practical advice to solve our daily problems. During the weekend, Gen Tabkay will share how we can bring these Four Noble Truths and the deep meaning of the Wheel of Life into our daily life, discover its relevance to our day to day experiences, and to develop wisdom that will make our life deeply meaningful.
The Four Noble Truths
In Sutra of the Four Noble Truths, Buddha says:
You should know sufferings.
You should abandon origins.
You should attain cessations.
You should practice the path.
These instructions are known as the “four noble truths.” They are called “noble truths” because they are superior and non-deceptive instructions.
The Wheel of Life
Make effort to destroy the cycle of suffering
Enter the path to liberation
Abandon all delusions
And learn to cherish others
”With Dharma wisdom, if we contemplate and meditate on the meaning of the diagram of the Wheel of Life we can gain many experiences and realizations of the stages of the path.”
