Guided meditations to change your world through changing your mind
Who we are very much depends on who we think we are. We change every day in dependence upon our thoughts – but usually without choice, which is why we experience so many problems. Through learning Buddha’s practical insights into who we really are and who we can be, we can harness a natural process of self-transformation and make it work in our favor. Instead of pushing or struggling with ourselves, trying to change through willpower alone, we can make real, sustained, and smooth change from the inside out by developing wisdom – knowing what is to be abandoned and what is meant to be practiced; learning how to care for ourselves and others; and the most profound mind of compassion and a wisdom that knows the true nature of all things. As we journey through these meditations we will experience a deeper and more profound level of joy and fulfillment.
Each class consists of a teaching and guided meditation.
Everyone welcome!
Lamrim the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment
The meditations we will be exploring are called the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment, or “Lamrim” in Tibetan, they are a sophisticated, practical presentation of Buddhist teachings, which is designed to help us improve and grow in a deliberate and joyful way. The Lamrim takes us step-by-step through carefully crafted meditations so we can purposefully nourish the qualities in our mind that lead to our happiness and reduce our painful thoughts and feelings. We will go one-by-one through the Lamrim, drawing out how we can personally use these meditations and create our own meditation practice. These classes are suitable for anyone wanting to become familiar with meditation and to deepen one’s understanding of the Buddhist perspective on how to attain true and lasting happiness.
