How to Protect Ourself and Others: Weekend Retreat
Guest teacher National Midwestern Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Demo will lead this February 12-14 event, How to Protect Ourself and Others: Meditations and Teachings on Love.
Buddha taught that love is the great protector. Both we ourselves and others are protected by love from harmful actions and suffering, and a loving heart inspires us to treat others with consideration and kindness. In this special weekend event, we will learn practical methods to grow our mind of love, which will bring new energy and great benefit to all our relationships. Join us for the entire weekend, or feel free to try out any particular day. Everyone welcome!
Friday Night Lecture: Love vs. Attachment
Pure love brings only good results while attachment brings only problems. Come explore Buddha’s wisdom teachings on how to discern the difference between love and attachment, and learn methods to weaken our attachment while improving our mind of love.
Saturday Meditation Retreat: Love is the Answer
In this three-session retreat we’ll engage in a sequence of meditations on affectionate love, cherishing love and wishing love. By familiarizing yourself with love in meditation, it becomes easier to maintain warm and friendly feelings towards others in daily life. See schedule below. Everyone welcome!
Special Sunday Class: Learning to Love
Authentic love is not something we ‘fall in,’ rather it is something we nurture in our hearts. It is not something we reserve for just one person, but instead is a powerful mind of cherishing that we can learn over time to extend to everyone. Please feel very welcome to attend this practical and uplifting class.
Cost: Register for the entire weekend for $35 ($30 members, $25 benefactors)
Friday only: $10; Saturday only: $25; Sunday only: $10
