Public service
One of the main functions of Kadampa Meditation Center Madison is to serve the public. Providing public services to bring lasting peace to others is at the forefront of Kadampa Buddhism. Without inner peace, outer peace and happiness is impossible. We work with school, community groups, with businesses and in healthcare introducing contemporary Buddhist practices and meditation techniques to bring benefit in these different environments.

“Cherishing our neighbors and the people in our local area will naturally lead to harmony in the community and society at large, and this will make everyone happier.”
Request a talk
Kadampa Meditation Center Madison supports the Madison community and surrounding areas by providing custom group teachings and meditation at the request of organizations and local businesses. Raising the community’s awareness and experience of inner peace not only helps individuals, but creates the potential for peace to expand into the organization, workplace, and community.
We are very interested in creating ties with local community organizations and welcome inquiries.
School & group visits
We would be happy to arrange for a teacher to come to your school or organization to give a talk to a class or group.
Or, if your school or group would like to arrange for a visit to our Center, please contact us. We offer a tour of the meditation room, a short talk, and a guided meditation. The students will meet practitioners who may be ordained or lay, and will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We are happy to adapt our programs to your specific needs.
Hospital & hospice
We offer bedside visiting and a variety of meditation sessions for those seeking Buddhist support. These sessions can be for both staff and patients to help bring a more peaceful, calm and positive approach in the face of adversity.
In addition, we offer special Buddhist ritual prayers. These can be done in the hospital or hospice at the time of dying, in a formal session for family and friends at Kadampa Meditation Center Madison, or in conjunction with funeral services.
