Join us for our daily meditation prayers, weekly & monthly Pujas.
Pujas (chanted prayers) are an important component of training in a spiritual life. They help us to still our mind, connect with enlightened beings, and receive blessings. Below is a list of the pujas we practice together at the Center. Please check the online calendar for any schedule changes. All pujas are free of charge. Everyone welcome.
Wishfulfilling Jewel with silent meditation
This practice is generally held Wednesdays, Thursdays, and some Fridays from 5:30-6:30 PM.
A special Guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa combined with the condensed sadhana of his Dharma Protector. This puja includes a special Guru yoga practice revealed by the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri in which we visualize our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa, who himself is a manifestation of Manjushri.
By relying upon this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In this way, we will naturally accomplish all the realizations of the stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra, and in particular we will attain a very special Dharma wisdom. (1 hour)
Quick Path to Great Bliss
This practice is held Wednesdays from 10-11:30 AM and is open to those who have Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments. Find out more at this link.
For the Recently Deceased
This practice is generally held the first Friday of every month from 5:30-6:30 PM.
Every month we hold a special ceremony to help those who have recently died experience peace of mind after death and be cared for by the Buddha of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara. During this ceremony we engage in the traditional Buddhist practice of “Powa” or transference of consciousness in conjunction with the prayers, “Powa Ceremony.” (1 hour)
Liberation from Sorrow
Medicine Buddha Prayers
35 Confession Buddhas
No matter how negative our mind is we have the opportunity to purify it completely by engaging in purification, the root of future happiness and spiritual realizations. In this practice, we visualize the Thirty-five Confession Buddhas and practice purification in their presence. Through the power of their blessings and prayers, we can swiftly purify even the heaviest negative actions simply by faithfully reciting their names. During this practice, we will make one prostration to each of the 35 Buddhas.
Offering to the Spiritual Guide
with food offering (Tsog)
This is a special Guru Yoga of Je Tsongkhapa in conjunction with Highest Yoga Tantra that is a preliminary practice for Vajrayana Mahamudra. The main practice is relying upon our Spiritual Guide as a Buddha and making praises and requests, but it also includes all the essential practices of the stages of the path and training the mind, as well as both the generation stage and completion stage of Highest Yoga Tantra. By relying upon Je Tsongkhapa our compassion, wisdom, and spiritual power naturally increase. This practice includes a tsog offering so you can bring a vegetarian food offering with you if you wish. (2 hours)
Wishfulfilling Jewel with food offering (Tsog)
This practice is held on the 29th of each month.
In the first part of this practice, we visualize Je Tsongkhapa and make prayers and requests to purify negativity, and accumulate merit. This prepares our mind for a period of silent meditation on the Lamrim, or stages of the path. The second part of this practice contains prayers to the wisdom Buddha and Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden, to help us overcome obstacles to our practice. This practice includes a tsog offering so you can bring a vegetarian food offering with you if you wish. (1.5 hours)
