Letting Go and Purifying: the practice of Vajrasattva
So, if we don’t like something that is happening to us or how we feel about it or indeed how we are reacting, this is a perfect reminder to us to purify this karma. Taking responsibility for our karma or actions can turn our lives around.
When we are doing Vajrasattva purification we can experience the purity flooding into us and we don’t hold back. Our negativity doesn’t exist from its own side – like everything else, it is a mere aspect of our mind. Purify the mind by mixing it with the extraordinary bliss and wisdom of enlightened beings and that negativity simply disappears because it is only appearance to mind.
In this half-day retreat we will learn how to skillfully engage in this practice, and how to use Vajrasattva’s mantra as an instrument of purification through which we can heal our mind of all negativities, painful and hurtful tendencies. This practice purifies our mind of our inner sources of unhappiness, it also removes obstacles to our making great progress on our spiritual path and liberates us to experience a joyful future.
Buddha Vajrasattva is a manifestation of the purified consciousness of all the Buddhas, appearing in a special form in order to help us purify our negativity. The practice of meditation and mantra recitation of Vajrasattva is a very powerful method for purifying our body, speech, and mind.
